PlayTime – Laughter Yoga and Song

Workshop

Presenter: Gareth Edwards
Suitable for: All ages

Let’s ring the school-bell on normality and fling open the doors for PlayTime, a fusion of laughter yoga and song. Learn this ancient shortcut to joy and antidote to the stress of modern living. Laughter guaranteed. We will also engage in collective singing and dancing as an expression of the joy that is generated.

PlayTime will give people a taster of laughter yoga, provide greater connection to inner joy, allow people to develop new responses to stress, facilitate connectivity between people and enhance people’s sense of wellbeing and belonging. Laughter yoga includes activities to stretch the body, promote abdominal breathing, experience the bliss of unconditional child-like laughter followed by a short meditation. We will conclude by a group sharing of experiences and collective concert of song and dance to allow people to fully feel the sense of joy and ease following laughter yoga. There is also a wonderful group connection that is built and it’s common for people to use the laughter activities when bumping in to each other through the festival.

Luminate for me:
“My first Luminate was a revelation! To be in such a magical setting with a gathering of like-minded people all wanting to learn and play together was like coming home. Being able to contribute as a presenter last time made if feel even more special and I’d love to be able to bring the laughter again this time.”
