Planting Wholesome Seeds – A playful Exploration of Mindfulness for Children and Families

Workshop

Presenter: Jaime Howell
Suitable for: Children 7 years and upwards, parents must attend

Music, song, games and exercises to attune young people and their families toward the wholesome power of mindfulness. Neuroscience has shown us that mindfulness supports positive changes in the structure of the brain and nervous system. Together in a supportive group we will explore mindfulness in a fun and playful way.

In a time of attention fragmenting technology devices we offer the remembering that happiness is right here. Intro to mindfulness in a fun way, what it is, what is it not? Guided by guitar and singing to explore the dimensions of what mindfulness is about. We will sing, move and dance, tasting the joy that lives in being simply present, wondering and curious to the world around us. Some things explored include offering a simple loving kindness practice,
exploring how mindfulness can be used for deep listening and loving speaking and offering smiling as the key to embodying this natural simple way to be present.
