Ariathea

Ariathea is original tribal-funk-soul, led by multi-genre adept songstress, teacher of voice and sound healer Georgia Duder-Wood. It is inspired by the high consciousness greats: Sly, Stevie, Marvin, Earth Wind & Fire and Prince, but with a world twist courtesy of percussion masters Doug Brush and Eric Renick.
With exceptional musicians playing to foundational tracks created by award-winning producers The Sound Room, a super fat sound is achieved with only four performers.
Anchoring the real time human groove is bassist Mat Fieldes, recently returned from a stellar international career based in New York. Sought after in classical, jazz, rock, hip-hop, R&B and on Broadway, he has collaborated with or played for such luminaries as Joe Jackson, John Cale, Ornette Coleman, Beyonce & Jay Z, Sufjan Stevens, Steve Vai, and Arturo Sandaval.
Adding the real time elemental wood, metal, bone and skin grooves are American percussionists Doug Brush, who has studied indigenous rhythms and played and performed with percussionist masters on five continents, and Eric Renick, principal percussionist for the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and a fellowship recipient of the prestigious New World Orchestra. Like Mat, both bring a wealth of international experience, anchoring powerful world rhythms for Georgia’s strong melodies, high-vibin’ lyrics and soulful vocals to soar.
Ariathea is music for your mind, booty and spirit, to uplift, inspire and connect audiences across Aotearoa.
