Travel & Location
By car: Follow SH60 from Motueka or Takaka and at the top of Takaka hill is Canaan Road.
This a gravel road which you follow for approx 10km. The road is usually in good condition but is very narrow in places, so caution and low speeds are required. In the long history of events at Canaan Downs, hundreds of people have driven large campervans and housetrucks etc along this road, however there is a sign at the road saying it is unsuitable for such vehicles, so it is your choice.
Visit the Safe Teen Driver campaign page provided by New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) for tips on road safety http://www.safeteendriver.co.nz/festivalmap
