The Live Zone at Luminate brings together an astounding quality and diversity of music, featuring world class acts from overseas and New Zealand: Live music, World Grooves, Tribal rhythms, Electronic producers, DJs, VJs, Psytrance, Minimal tech, Progressive, Breaks, Dubstep, Dub, Folk, Gypsy, Funk, Roots, Soul, Reggae, esoteric beats and more...

Also featuring the 4:20 sessions - a spontaneous and creative live music jam each day at 4.20pm, featuring Luminate's talented musicians, poets and headline performers in various combinations.

Aligned and designed according to sacred geometry, this zone is an energised dance floor for all to connect with our inner magik, our higher self, and our oneness with all that is. The carefully tuned Sacral Sound system will ensure your chakras are resonating with sparkley vibrationz. Sustainable art from natural materials and re-used resources, organic visuals from top VJs and creative lighting will resonate in harmony with the natural awe-inspiring landscape of this powerful site.

Look out for the variety of colourful, roaming performers and the nightly scheduled fire performances. Music on the live zone continues 24 hrs a day until Monday 1st February at 1pm.


Electronic Zone

Providing a contrast at all times, the Electronic Zone seeks to explore the broad diversity of contemporary genres. Whilst the daylight hours are likely to be full of groovy, funky, minimal and downtempo electronic beats, the night-time will be dedicated to the genres that push the boundaries and raise your heart-rate. Expect the unexpected.

Psychedelic Trance, Minimal tech, Progressive, Dubstep, Drum&Bass, Glitch, Electro, Dub, Reggae, Ambient soundscapes and lots more......

Running from 10pm on Thursday 28th January 2010.
Ends 5am Tuesday 2nd February with the dawn chorus.

Tribal Zone

The sacred fire, the heart of the festival, the primal rhythm and acoustic beat. Described by many last year as "the best Tribal zone ever!", Tribal at Luminate pulses with elemental energy and vitality. Bring your drums and instruments and join in the fun.

Opening Ceremony for the festival begins here 9pm Thursday 28th January 2010 with ritual drumming and fire performances.


Chill Out Zone

Chill out, relax, enjoy a warm chai and immerse yourself in luscious ambient soundscapes. Guest DJs will keep the soothing, downbeat grooves flowing, look out for some well renowned artists behind the decks.


Acoustic Jam Space

After hours in Te Ra, a warm and comfortable place for acoustic musicians to gather and enjoy spontaneous jam sessions. Open each evening after the workshops, until dawn.
