Singing Circle / Indian Vocalisation - Carolina Moon
In this workshop, Carolina will teach how to gently warm up the voice, overview body basics, and move into some body rhythms with vocal overlay. She’ll take you through some basic information, earwork and Indianisation of the sounds, joining everyone in a sound circle for glorious singing with freedom.

Carolina Moon is an eclectic UK/AUS/NZ vocalist trained in jazz voicework. She widely studied world music. She lived and performed extensively in London and Sydney before traveling through India to study Indian vocal and raga. Her vocal style weaves Eastern and Western influences into a powerful statement of the feminine within modern and traditional world music, jazz and improvisation.
Carolina’s recent Masters project (UoA) was curated into a beautiful CD release ‘Mother Tongue’ ~ Spanish and Sephardic (Ladino) traditional song which debuted at WOMAD 2011, which has collected exceptional reviews.
She has performed throughout the UK, Australia, India, Shanghai, New Zealand and the Pacific, and currently teaches at the University of Auckland Jazz Department and at community courses.
