Full workshop Line Up now announced!

The Flaming-Juggle-Poi-Toy-Zone offers an extensive program of circus style workshops catering for all ages and abilities, and hosts a spectacular array of fire/LED performers each night throughout the festival.

Situated near to the live zone so we have funky music to play/learn to workshops run from 10am-12pm and 2-6pm with a closure for lunch.

In the mornings the sessions are intended for children, offering kids the chance to explore and increase their skills on a daily basis. Activities include hula hoop, poi, juggling, unicycling & flowersticks.

Afternoon sessions are open to all ages: The comprehensive list of circus skills on offer is HUGE! Please see the Circus page under Kiss Workshop listings for more information on workshop leaders and their workshops...but as a taster - rope dart, whip cracking, double staff, partner poi, contact juggling & the list goes on! You can even try your new moves in poi, staff, clubs etc with fire in our supervised 'virgin burner' slot.

In the evenings you'll be enthralled and inspired by the beauty and skill demonstrated by workshop presenters who perform with fire and glow toys around the festival site. With an aerial performance from the Twisty Twinz and roving stilted costumed characters provided by Community Artworks, Nelson, Spinovation from Circus Kumarani and the award winning FireBugs back for their 3rd year, there will be an amazing array of talent both old and new to Luminate to feast your eyes upon!

Some of New Zealand's finest performers with a smattering of Internationals join together for Luminate, to share skills and collaborate with each other offering team taught workshops, inspiration, fun and stunning performances. Prepare to learn a lot, play a lot and be thoroughly entertained!

Applications for the Juggle Poi Toy Zone Crew are now closed!
