Formidable Vegetable Sound System

  • Genre: Live Music
  • Style: electro-funk-swing with rad beets, swede as

Western Australia’s Formidable Vegetable Sound System are the world’s most triumphant experiment in ‘ecological electroswing’ busting out energetic, quirky mashups of speakeasy-style antique-beats with live ukulele wonk, hyperactive horns and the principles of permaculture.

Possibly the only band to promote the joys of gardening through dance music. With epic live shows consisting of bouncing beets, ukulele kook, shredding strings and hyperactive horns, the band has only one goal: to pound simple solutions for sustainability deep into your consciousness in the funkiest way possible.

Recently FVSS have released a new albumn - Grow Do It - is on CD in a beautifully presented hard-cover that is essentially set out like a childrens' book. The hand-drawn illustrations by Oz Thomas are in fantastic storybook style with each song clearly written up alongside a recipe or activity corresponding to each track. "An educational toolbox" - Earth Garden Magazine.

This album is dedicated to kids of ALL ages (including big ones like me!) who want to be able to look after themselves, the place where they live and the people they live with by growing and eating healthy food with care, growing a healthy mind & body and feeling inspired to do amazing things that can change the world!
