We're all go! Day one and lots of happy people setting up camp, settling in, and enjoying the good vibes. If you're joining us for the long weekend or even just Waitangi day, special passes wil be available on the gate - see the tickets page for a range of options and full details. Check out the music shedules and workshop schedules and make the most of all that is on offer.
Just a reminder that online ticket sales (from Eventfinder and Cosmic Corner) end at midnight on Monday 30th January 2012. This is for all special weekend passes, youth and standard tickets. You can still buy standard and youth tickets from various stores around the country until Friday 3rd Feb 5.30pm. Gate sales for standard, youth, long weekend, late arrivals and Waitangi day tickets will be available on the day, numbers permitting (3000 limit). Refer to the Tickets page for full info on all prices and conditions. There is NO Eftpos at the gate, you'l need to have the correct cash. Limited Eftpos may be available once inside the festival site from the market, but the remote location with patchy cell coverage makes this unreliable at times. Looking forward to seeing you all very soon ; )
Schedules have now been published for Live Stage, Electronic Zone, and the Knowledge & Inspirational Sharing Sessions (KISS/Workshops). Check out the music schedules here and the workshops schedules here. A booklet will be avaiable at the festival with all schedules and much info about music artists and workshops. Note: the schedules and line-up may change without notice. A Site Map has also been published in the Festival Info section. As a taster for the live stage music line-up, Friday will sizzle with Caitlin & Sika, Diwata, Pacific Curls and Ganga Giri, followed by OTT, Grouch and Hedflux. Saturday will rev things up with Amiria Grenell, Rhythmonyx, Newtown Rocksteady and the Barons of Tang; whilst Emok, Loud, Merkaba and Issac Chambers will unleash the grooves after midnight. Sunday shines with Emeralds & Greenstone, Matiu Te Huki, Chimuka, OKA and Wild Marmalade; with Phony Orphants, Electrypnose and James Monro through the wee small hours. Waitangi day dubs it out and winds it up with Tom Cosm, One Vibe, Pacha Atma, The Nomad and Taos. There are many, many more musical talents to savour and enjoy on the live stage, as well as in the other music zones. Check back soon for the scheduling updates, and meanwhile visit the music pages for more info on all the aritists.
Gates open 1st Feb, most zones open 2nd Feb, all zones open 3rd - 6th Feb. If you can only arrive at the weekend, there are several options. A "Long Weekend Pass" is valid from Saturday 4th Feb, 8am, and a "Late Arrivals Pass" is valid from Sunday 5th Feb, 8am. You are welcome to enjoy the festival until Wed 8th Feb.
These ticket options are for adults and youth, and are only available online from Eventfinder, or at the gate* if numbers permit. Admission is limited to 3000.
For a number of reasons we cannot offer day passes. The only option is a gate sale ticket available on Monday 6th Feb (Waitangi Day/national holiday). With this ticket you are also welcome to enjoy the festival until Wed 8th Feb.
Visit the Tickets page for full details on all ticket options.
Most people arrive for the beginning of the festival, settle in early and make the most of all that is on offer. The festival gradually winds up and slowly winds down, and if you've ever been to Canaan Downs you'l know how amazing the land is and will understand why we can hardly wait to gather there for such an extended period.
We are very much looking forward to gathering with you to Luminate 2012, whether you're coming for the whole week or just the long weekend. Enjoy yourself, look after the environment and all others, and have an awesome festival!

In light of the recent flooding in the Golden Bay - Nelson region, we are extending the Early Bird Summer Special Tickets until the 5th January. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost homes, gardens, and been affected by the floods. We're all connected, so lets do our best to support each other.
Tickets are available online from Eventfinder, from Cosmic corner (stores in Chch, Welly, Dun, Auck), Everyman Recs (Nelson), Arcadia Organics (Motueka), GB Organics (Takaka), and Planet Funk (Greymouth). Check the Tickets page for more details on all tickets.

The second round of Early Bird tickets (Early Summer Special) are now available from 1st November until summer solstice, 21st December. If for any reason you can't make the whole 8 days, we suggest making the most of these Early Bird tickets. They are amazing value, especially for a long weekend with monday being a public holiday. Children 13 and under are allowed in for free and Teens (14-17yrs) at a reduced price as Luminate Trust subsidises the cost of their activities.
The first round of Early Bird tickets for Luminate 2012 are available from Spring Equinox (23rd Sept). You can buy online from Eventfinder or from Cosmic Corner with shops nationwide, or from various local stores. Check the Tickets page for more details and a list of shops and locations.
Venue: Canaan Downs, Takaka Hill, Nelson, Aotearoa/New Zealand.
We are very pleased to confirm the dates for Luminate in the cosmologically significant year of 2012. There are many factors we take into consideration when deciding on dates, including readings from our astrologers (thanx russel and grayham) and mayan calender advisors (thanx christine & vasumi). Timing the festival to synchronise with Lughnasadgh (the ancient summer harvest festival of the earth mother/divine goddess, midway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox) is fundamental to Luminate, and in 2012 Lughnasadgh will peak on 4th Feb (11.30pm to be fairly precise).
